The boys were having a blast last wk , they would go out and start a fire with the pine needles and try making popcorn from field corn, don't think that worked to good.. Our dog had more puppies not sure what kind they are:(. She was roaming a little to much and not  sure who the daddy is... The boys are having fun with them...                        Ethan had a birthday on Saturday , he turned 5, he's not so little anymore, Steve called me Saturday morning and said he found a 4 wheeler he wanted to get for him, at first I was like no I was thinking more like a battery operated one, but said its up to him,  we'll he came home with it and Ethan loved it!!!!           I was glad he got that one and not the battery one, I kinda forget how big he really is:).                                                     It's looking like we might be going to pa earlier then we had planned, my grandfather has not been well the last week and we have been waiting on a call,     The plan now is to all go up together and me and the boys will stay till Christmas , steve will fly home and come back up the wknd before Christmas .......          I did get some cookies and some choc covered crackers and Oreos done.... Looks like the boys will miss the Christmas play Friday night,    He is 94 and I know he is ready to go , but its never easy seeing somebody walk thru the valley of death.... It's at times like this I wish I could be there with family,  but it is what it is, I' m so thankful that Jesus made a way and death is really just when our life really begins...so thankful this life is not all we have........it is really only a vapor in light of eternity....     Blessings!!!

Yup its that time of year, the smell of pine,lights, candles, program practices, hot choc, christmas music,  I love this time of year! the baking , all the smells... and the real reason of the season the reason i celebrate christmas,a reminder that my savior was born into this sin filled world to save even me , thank you Jesus.. .. We picked out a tree on saturday in the beautiful 70 deg weather, and still enjoyed hot choc and hot cider while we picked it out... the boys love doing this and its not really about the tree its more about making memories! we stopped for mexican on the way home.....sunday we went to church ,came home and spent the day watching sappy tear jerker hallmark christmas movies:)        Today i am a yr older not sure how i feel about that but i choose to thank God for another year of health and time spent with those i love!!!   I got lots of birthday kisses,and hubby came home with a blanket and a latte:) mom sent my box down friday and the boys had been guarding it in thier bedroom:) thanks mom!!  love those mummy boxes!! I made my own cake:) trying to still watch my sugar intake and ive been wanting to try this, it was an angel food cake cut in half layered with lemon and cool whip pudding and bluberries,blackberries and strawberries, will be making it again!      thats it for tonight, bless ya"ll

Thanksgiving ..

Thanksgiving in the south, so many things to be thankful for!!  We didn't spend the day with our families, but I decided last year I would still cook and go all out even if its just us:) we invited friends who don't have family down here either , Ron & heide , I made stuffing ,cranberry relish, sweet potatoes with bacon and maple syrup, autumn salad with pears and apples,pumpkin pie, California salad and Christmas salad, heide brought mashed potatoes and a pumpkin cheesecake...oh yea forgot the turkey and the one steve decided to try on the big green egg:):). So yes we had plenty of food!!  We had a great day they were here till 10, we played some games and ate some more:).                Sunday steve went hunting and finally got not one but 2 deer,  he was a happy man,so were the boys:)).        I think we will get summer sausage made, that's what it's called down here pretty much ring bologna......        I'm thinking we might get our tree this wknd....        I was going to take pics on thanksgiving but all I got it to raw turkeys:( so this is just a mixture of pics:).   Blessings! This week has been a little crazy,one of those weeks as a mom:) and nothing i tried to make this week was turning out the way i thought it should look...I've been wanting to try and make some cheese,just one of those things i would like to try:) found an easy mozzarella cheese recipe, They say it works better if u use unpasturized milk...well thier is somewhere down here i knew i could get that ,so went to get my milk after the boys finally got done with school,   a ways down the road realized i forgot my jars, so came back and i ran in and got them, off we go and about the same place Josh was like where is ethan?  My heart skipped a beat mike was like he thinks he went in to the bathroom at home.... OH NO..   I had these images of Ethan comin out of the bathroom and no one was around and him not noing wat to do and all that:) so whip it around and come flyin home well not quote home a little down the road Josh starts laughin and Ethan pops up in the back seat:(:(                                                This mama did not think it was to funny at the time,yet was kinda relieved:)       I can laugh now cuz they really did get me,but i very sternly told them they better never do that again!!:)                                                                                        Anyway i did get my milk and i did try to make my cheese still isn't the way its supposed to be but used it in vegetable lasagna and it tastes good...... so still not done tryin it, next thing is cottage cheese and ricotta:):)                               we had ladies bible study thurs night and i didn't get home till 2 in the morning, it was a great night,always lots of sharing , the topic was on mary and martha, always so challenging as a mom, we see all the work and things that need to be done and put so much pressure on ourselves,when the most important thing is sitting at the feet of Jesus and our relationship with him and our kids and those around us.... Do our relationships with jesus or our husband or our kids or people suffer because we are to busy.....                                                                                               Steve and Michael went hunting this morning, so me and the other boys went out for breakfast.... need to do some shopping this afternoon... have a great wknd!! blessings!

The cottons fields are white with cotton, the leaves are falling , evenings are longer and cooler, & weeks until christmas:):)      Saturday we drove up to cookville, about 2 hrs away to get our family pics done:) Somebody we know lives up there and she does photograhy,i love to see diff areas down here and heard its beautiful so it was a good excuse for a drive!! everything went great kids did good and it was so beautiful!  Enjoyed a great meal at a friends house and came home:)
